The Knicks City Dancers are celebrating their 19th year in the Garden spotlight. The KCD captivate audiences with their electrifying combination of athletic routines, unparalleled talent and classic style. In the 2009-10 season, the KCD will continue to enhance the Knicks experience for fans through world-class dance that reflects the energy and diversity of New York. Coached by former member, Danielle Mimnaugh, the KCD have worked with famed choreographers in the entertainment industry such as Shane Sparks, Laurie Ann Gibson, Cicely and Olisa of NuStylz and Dan Karaty.
Off the court, the Knicks City Dancers have appeared on a variety of television programs, including Live with Regis and Kelly, The Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, MTV’s TRL and Sex and the City. The KCD also have made high-profile appearances at annual New York events such as the ING New York City Marathon, the Puerto Rican Day Parade, Dominican Day Parade and the Columbus Day Parade. On a worldwide scale, the KCD appeared in Mumbai, India for NBA Nation this past July and have also recently traveled to Taiwan, Paris, Shanghai and Beijing.
As goodwill ambassadors for the Knicks, the Knicks City Dancers participate in a variety of charitable causes around New York, but their main focus is helping kids in crisis through the Garden of Dreams Foundation.
The Knicks City Dancers are Keeping the Rhythm of New York. They are solemnly sworn to serve and faithfully preserve, defend and safeguard the rhythm, so that it forever electrifies the avenues and streets of New York City.
